The Unique Maps Co. is an international company that prints, frames, personalises and delivers maps in 22 countries around the world.
In most cases, I will produce and post your map locally, within your country. For example, if you live in Japan, your map will be printed and framed in Japan. If you live in UK, it'll be printed and framed there.
This means you won't pay any import duties, delivery time will be much quicker (2 to 3 days), and we'll save on CO2 emissions.
It's also great for gifting: if you're in Germany, you could send a gift to someone in Singapore. I would then make and deliver the map locally in Singapore.

Welche Größe soll ich kaufen?
Wenn Sie den Platz und das Budget haben, empfehle ich Ihnen, eine Karte im Format 40 x 50 cm oder größer zu kaufen. Die meisten Karten sehen in größeren Größen besser aus, da sie eine große Menge an Details enthalten.

Allgemeine Größenrichtlinien
Im Allgemeinen ist die Größe, die Sie im Geschäft sehen, genau richtig.
Wenn Sie also beispielsweise eine 18x24 Zoll große Karte kaufen, sollten Sie einen Rahmen kaufen, der „zum Bild passt“, das 18x24 Zoll groß ist. Wenn Sie eine 60x90 cm große Karte bestellen, sollten Sie einen Rahmen kaufen, der „zum Bild passt“, das 60x90 cm groß ist.
Wenn Sie eine Karte mit einer ungewöhnlichen Größe sehen, z. B. 24 x 11 Zoll (oder 61 x 29 cm), empfehle ich Ihnen dringend, zu warten, bis die Karte eintrifft, bevor Sie online einen Rahmen anfertigen oder bestellen. Die Größe dieser Karten kann um einige Millimeter abweichen, und es ist sehr frustrierend, wenn sie nicht in Ihren Rahmen passen!

Große Karten
Bitte kontaktiere mich wenn Sie vorhaben, eine große Karte (über 40 Zoll oder 100 cm) selbst einzurahmen.
Wenn Sie Ihren eigenen Rahmen kaufen, empfehle ich Ihnen, auf die Lieferung des Rahmens zu warten, die Innenmaße des Rahmens zu bestätigen und mir dann die genaue Größe mitzuteilen, die Sie benötigen. Messen Sie die Breite und Höhe des Bretts auf der Rückseite des Rahmens, um ein genaues Maß zu erhalten.
Alternativ können Sie die Karte bei mir kaufen, sie nach Erhalt ausmessen und dann einen passenden Rahmen bestellen.
Bei großen Karten kann ich die Größe Ihrer Karte kostenlos anpassen.
Wenn Sie Ihre Karte zu einem Einrahmer vor Ort bringen, wird dieser die Karte für Sie ausmessen und anschließend den passenden Rahmen anfertigen.

This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or you can buy it framed. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that suits most aesthetics. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame colour or material. My frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite), which is significantly less reflective than glass, safer, and will always arrive in perfect condition.
Mein Standardrahmen ist ein schwarzer Holzrahmen. Er ist einfach und sieht recht modern aus. Bei Karten bis zu 91 cm (36 Zoll) ist der Rahmen 2 cm (0,75 Zoll) breit. Bei größeren Karten verwende ich dickere Rahmen - in der Regel zwischen 35 und 60 mm (1.4in bis 2.4in).
In allen Fällen verwende ich für das Rahmenglas superklares Acrylglas in Museumsqualität (Plexiglas/Acrylit). Es ist leichter und sicherer als Glas - und es sieht besser aus, da es weniger reflektiert.

Meine Karten sind extrem hochwertige Reproduktionen von Originalkarten.
Ich beziehe extrem seltene Originalkarten aus Bibliotheken, Auktionshäusern und Privatsammlungen auf der ganzen Welt, restauriere sie in meiner Londoner Werkstatt und verwende dann spezielle Giclée-Tinten und -Drucker, um wunderschöne Karten zu erstellen, die noch besser aussehen als das Original.
Meine Karten werden auf säurefreiem, archivtauglichem, mattem (nicht glänzendem) Papier gedruckt, das sich sehr hochwertig und fast wie Karton anfühlt. Technisch gesehen hat das Papier eine Stärke von 10mil/190gsm. Es ist perfekt zum Einrahmen.
Ich drucke mit Epson-Ultrachrome-Giclée-Pigmenttinten, die UV-beständig sind und nicht verblassen - einige der besten Tinten, die man finden kann.
