Mappe con cornice
Le nostre cornici standard aggiungono circa 2 cm (0,75 in) per lato. Ad esempio, una mappa da 45x60 cm misura circa 49x64 cm cornice inclusa, mentre una mappa da 24x36 in misura circa 25,5x37,5 in. Tieni conto di queste dimensioni esterne quando misuri lo spazio sulla parete.

Mappe senza cornice

Scegliere una cornice adatta
Utilizza le dimensioni indicate per la mappa scelta per selezionare una cornice. Considera la misura dell'opera che la cornice può contenere, piuttosto che le dimensioni esterne della cornice stessa.
Ad esempio, una mappa da 18x24 pollici richiede una cornice che 'fits artwork' di 18x24 pollici. Per una mappa da 60x90 cm, scegli una cornice adatta a un'opera da 60x90 cm.
Per i formati insoliti, come 24x11 pollici (61x29 cm), consigliamo di attendere l'arrivo della mappa prima di ordinare una cornice. Le dimensioni possono variare di qualche millimetro, quindi misurare prima la stampa aiuterà a garantire una perfetta vestibilità.

Prima di ordinare una cornice separata per una mappa di grandi dimensioni, attendete l’arrivo della stampa e misuratela. In questo modo avrete le dimensioni necessarie per scegliere una cornice con sicurezza.

A deep red triangular centre, bearing the stylised initials of the lodge, is enclosed by green leaves and fine gold detailing. Above it rises a small five-pointed star; below, a slender sword-like element extends along the vertical axis. Set against solid black, the design appears unusually concentrated and luminous, its organic ornament held in balance by emphatic symmetry.
Created in Czechoslovakia for Dilo Lodge, the member jewel belongs to the visual culture of fraternal insignia, in which emblems could communicate membership, rank and collective values. It also reveals the breadth of Mucha’s practice. Although he is most closely associated with the celebrated theatrical and advertising posters that helped define Art Nouveau in the public imagination, his decorative language was applied far beyond the poster: to jewellery, interiors, packaging and ceremonial objects. Here, that language is adapted to a compact badge of identity, giving institutional symbolism the refinement of an ornamental miniature.
A closer look
The composition is built around a strict central spine. At its heart, the red triangular field provides the strongest area of colour, edged by gold and dark contours that sharpen its silhouette. Within it, the intertwined lettering is treated less as ordinary typography than as part of the ornament: curving strokes appear embedded in the emblem rather than merely placed upon it. The triangle’s firm geometry anchors the surrounding leaves, whose curling edges and delicate veins soften the design without disturbing its symmetry.
The upper section narrows towards the star, creating a clear visual apex. Its golden points stand out crisply against the black ground, while the foliage immediately beneath it forms a transition between the celestial motif and the central jewel. At the lower edge, the sword-like vertical form changes the rhythm again. Its long, fine lines draw the eye downwards and lend the otherwise compact emblem a sense of ceremonial gravity.
Colour is used economically but forcefully. Saturated green and deep red form the principal contrast, while gold serves as a binding accent, tracing edges and picking out points of emphasis. Subtle variations within the foliage suggest overlapping leaves, yet the overall effect remains deliberately flat and graphic. Thin black outlines give definition to even the smallest curves, allowing the dense ornament to remain lucid against the surrounding darkness.
Context and significance
Mucha’s mature style grew from the Art Nouveau conviction that art could shape the full visual environment, from monumental decoration to the smallest designed object. Its characteristic vocabulary—sinuous line, stylised plant forms, decorative lettering and carefully integrated symbolism—proved remarkably adaptable. In this lodge jewel, the familiar flowing contours are disciplined by heraldic symmetry and the practical need for an emblem that could be immediately recognised.
The date places the design in Mucha’s later career, after the period in which his Paris posters had made his name internationally. Rather than repeating the expansive female figures and elaborate floral haloes of those earlier works, Dilo Lodge, member jewel compresses his decorative intelligence into a more austere symbolic structure. We print and frame maps and artwork in 24 countries around the world, so your order is usually made close to you or your recipient. That means faster delivery, less time in transit, and no customs or import duty surprises.
Personalised and customised pieces usually take an extra 1–2 working days, because we prepare your design and send it to you for approval before printing.
Very large framed orders can take a little longer, as they need extra care in production and delivery.
Every order is carefully packaged: unframed prints are sent in a strong protective tube, while framed pieces are securely packed with protective materials around the frame.

Our standard frame is a gallery-style black ash hardwood frame, with a simple, modern look. It is approximately 20mm (0.8in) wide. You can also view some lovely customer photos of framed maps and art.
We use super-clear acrylic glazing, also known as Perspex or Acrylite, instead of traditional glass. It is lighter, safer, and has lower reflectivity, giving the artwork a clearer, cleaner appearance.
Six standard frame colours are available at no extra cost: black, dark brown, dark grey, oak, white, and antique gold. Custom framing and mounting/matting is also available for customers looking for something more specific.
Most maps, art prints, and illustrations are also available as a framed canvas. We use matte cotton canvas, stretch it over a sustainably sourced wooden box frame, and then float the piece within a wooden outer frame. The finished result is beautifully presented, with no glazing between you and the artwork.
All frames are supplied ready to hang, with either string or brackets fitted to the back. Very large frames will include heavy-duty hanging plates and/or a mounting baton. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
