7,000+ 5 star reviews

The Castle Course at St Andrews Links is a modern Scottish classic, carved into the rugged cliffs just south of the Old Course and opened in 2008. This map captures its bold, coastal spirit with a clean, contemporary hand — a portrait that feels both elegant and unmistakably tied to the edge-of-the-world drama that defines a round here. For anyone who has walked these fairways, peered over the cliff tops to the North Sea, or dreamed of adding St Andrews to a lifetime of golf, it’s a striking way to celebrate a course that is as scenic as it is exacting.

From above, the routing unfolds in a sinuous sweep, with winding paths tracing rolling fairways that rise and fall toward the sea. Bunkers are picked out like fine golden accents, carefully placed to shape strategy and rhythm from tee to green. A cool band of blue water anchors the composition, highlighting the course’s coastal exposure and giving the map a crisp, graphic balance. The minimalist palette — rich greens against maritime blue — enhances the clarity of each hole while preserving the course’s wild, elemental character.

What stands out is the sense of movement and space. Holes turn and tumble along the shoreline, then angle inland, inviting bold carries and precise placement in equal measure. Greens are approached over sculpted contours and guarded by bunkers that are as visually expressive as they are demanding. Seen as a whole, the layout has a distinctive silhouette — a clifftop ribbon where strategy and scenery are inseparable — and the map reveals that underlying composition with beautiful restraint.

Rendered from high-quality mapping sources and finished with a refined, modern aesthetic, this piece honors more than just the shot values of The Castle Course. It celebrates the feeling of playing here: the salt air, the shifting wind, the satisfaction of a well-placed drive on a hole that bends just so. For golfers, members, and admirers of St Andrews alike, it’s a sophisticated keepsake — a reminder of 2008’s newest addition to the Home of Golf, and of the stories that begin where the turf meets the sea.

Clean, modern design — made from real data

We build each course map by hand from high-resolution mapping sources, capturing every fairway, green, bunker, and waterline with careful precision. The result is a faithful, beautifully composed plan of The Castle Course that balances accuracy with a quietly luxurious aesthetic.

Clean lines, generous white space, and a refined green-and-blue palette give the piece a timeless quality — minimal and modern, yet rich in detail for those who know the course by heart.

Looks good anywhere

Designed to elevate a space without overpowering it, this map feels as natural in a contemporary living room as it does in a study, office, golf room, hallway, or clubhouse — a stylish focal point that rewards a closer look.

A genuinely brilliant gift for golfers

These maps are one of those rare gifts that feel instantly personal — a meaningful connection to a favorite round, a dream trip to St Andrews, or a long-standing love for links golf, all presented in a form that’s effortlessly display-worthy.

Perfect for:

  • Birthdays
  • Retirements
  • Father’s Day
  • Golf trips (especially St Andrews pilgrimages)
  • Club championships
  • Memorial trophies or friendship gifts
  • Wedding or anniversary presents for golf-loving couples

Thoughtful, distinctive, and far more memorable than the usual golf gift — a piece of wall art with real heart behind it.

If you are looking for a map of another golf course, you can order a Custom Golf Map of any golf map in the world.

Like any of our other maps, you can personalise this golf course map as well. Why not mark your favourite hole, or add a small illustration of you and your friend playing on the course? A dedication message under the title always works well, too.

If you're not sure what size to order, or you're looking for a custom order of some kind a different size, a different colour, a special frame then please contact us. We uually respond within a few minutes.

You can see an example of my map personalisation service in the fifth image. Zoom in and take a look. My personalised maps are always very well received. Take a look at more examples of personalisation.

You can also choose to age your map to make it look older. This is popular amongst my customers who want their golf map to look like an older, antique print. You can see an example of ageing in the sixth product image, or go ahead and check out lots of examples of other aged artwork.

The model in the listing images is holding the 18x24in (45x60cm) version of this map.

I can print and frame this golf course map at sizes up to 3 metres (10ft). If you are looking for a size or framing option that isn't available online, please get in touch.

This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or you can buy it framed. My standard frames come in six colours (black, dark brown, dark grey, antique gold, oak and white), and custom framing is available for an additional charge. My frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite), which is significantly less reflective than glass, safer, and will always arrive in perfect condition.

This map is also available as a float framed canvas, sometimes known as a shadow gap framed canvas or canvas floater. The map is printed on artist's cotton canvas and then stretched over a handmade box frame. We then "float" the canvas inside a wooden frame, which is available in a range of colours (black, dark brown, oak, antique gold and white). This is a wonderful way to present a map without glazing in front. See some examples of float framed canvas maps and explore the differences between my different finishes.

For something truly unique, this map is also available in "Unique 3D", our trademarked process that dramatically transforms the map so that it has a wonderful sense of depth. We combine the original map with detailed topography and elevation data, so that mountains and the terrain really "pop". For more info and examples of 3D maps, check my Unique 3D page.

My standard frame is a gallery style black ash hardwood frame. It is simple and quite modern looking. My standard frame is around 20mm (0.8in) wide.

I use super-clear acrylic (perspex/acrylite) for the frame glass. It's lighter and safer than glass - and it looks better, as the reflectivity is lower.

Six standard frame colours are available for free (black, dark brown, dark grey, oak, white and antique gold). Custom framing and mounting/matting is available if you're looking for something else.

Most maps, art and illustrations are also available as a framed canvas. We use matte (not shiny) cotton canvas, stretch it over a sustainably sourced box wood frame, and then 'float' the piece within a wood frame. The end result is quite beautiful, and there's no glazing to get in the way.

All frames are provided "ready to hang", with either a string or brackets on the back. Very large frames will have heavy duty hanging plates and/or a mounting baton. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

See some examples of my framed maps and framed canvas maps.

Alternatively, I can also supply old maps and artwork on canvas, foam board, cotton rag and other materials.

If you want to frame your map or artwork yourself, please read my size guide first.

My maps are extremely high quality reproductions of original maps.

I source original, rare maps from libraries, auction houses and private collections around the world, restore them at my London workshop, and then use specialist giclée inks and printers to create beautiful maps that look even better than the original.

My maps are printed on acid-free archival matte (not glossy) paper that feels very high quality and almost like card. In technical terms the paper weight/thickness is 10mil/200gsm. It's perfect for framing.

I print with Epson ultrachrome giclée UV fade resistant pigment inks - some of the best inks you can find.

I can also make maps on canvas, cotton rag and other exotic materials.

Map ageing

I have been asked hundreds of times over the years by customers if they could buy a map that looks even older.

Well, now you can, by selecting Aged before you add a map to your basket.

All the product photos you see on this page show the map in its Original form. This is what the map looks like today.

If you select Aged, I will age your map by hand, using a special and unique process developed through years of studying old maps, talking to researchers to understand the chemistry of aging paper, and of course... lots of practice!

If you're unsure, stick to the Original colour of the map. If you want something a bit darker and older looking, go for Aged.

If you are not happy with your order for any reason, contact me and I'll get it fixed ASAP, free of charge. Please see my returns and refund policy for more information.
